D.Day June 6th 1944
« on: June 06, 2015, 01:11:40 PM »
SO! 70 years ago today, the day we trained for, planned for, and secretly dreaded, arrived, and `orf we go to do or die.
It may be a bit facetious, but how else can one approach all the horrors, the  injuries, and the deaths, brought about by that days eventual arrival ?
A thought please for all those who "Bought It", and will never leave French Shores again, for me, Cheers  Digger,Jock, Micko, and the many others now resting, in graves from North Africa, via Sicily, Italy, and the mainland of Europe via Normandy.   We all hope your sacrifice was not in vain.

The country is and always should be, eternally grateful, for the immense sacrifices made to keep this country free.
