I dont drink the water from the fuente personally as it is chlorinated, and has too many additives for me. I had a walter filter system fitted in my casa, and this is the best water I have had, the tap water measures between 600 and 800, the fuente around 400, water from filter 48, apparently the lower the better

If you're talking about the reverse osmosis system, they waste more water that you can use, its how they work.
According to the Spanish, the water from the fuente in Mojacar receives no treatment other than being tested for purity as it comes up through the earth and is filtered naturally through limestone rock. It has a ppm reading of 244 which is better than average tap water.
if you constantly drink water with a reading of less than 100, you are depriving your body of much needed minerals which can affect your bone structure etc.

We have the reverse osmosis system fitted & the water that goes through the waste goes straight into a tub & then we water the garden with it, waste problem solved !
I did drink the water from the font at Mojacar  for over 4 years & look how normal I am !  :o

Got to be careful with the waste from the reverse osmosis though because it has all the minerals concentrated in it. Ok with the present Galasa water though which has already been treated in the same way.

ours doesnt have a waste, so dont know what it is. I was told by the Spanish authorities that the water at the fuente has to be chlorinated in accordance with eurpoean law, either way, I cant drink it, it tastes awful, and reusing plastic bottles doesnt do you any good either.

Some people say that plastic bottles "break down" over time and release chemicals into the contents of the bottle, especially in the case of plastic bottles which are constantly being refilled with water.

Most scientists say that this is unlikely (see http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-info/healthyliving/cancercontroversies/Plasticbottles/)

Me, I don't like reusing them too often because the handle goes brittle and tends to break at the fuente, spilling the water all over your trousers in front of the whole village!
Keep the site clean! If you spot a problem somewhere, you can now file a maintenance report online using your ClubCard account: Go to www.LosGallardosLeisure.es, login with your Clubcard number and click "Report Problem"

Thanks for that info.
I think I'll change the bottles on a regular basis from now on'

Can't be seen with wet trousers in public  ;)

Having read that report, I have no fear about re-using plastic bottles which were originally made to carry water or foodstuff.
Some scientist's have and still try to make a name for themselves by writing controversial reports about one thing or another, after which a tabloid sensationalises the scientist's report with headlines. Then an oddball somewhere will post their view on the internet, resulting in frightened people taking the twisted story as absolute truth.
